ACFCLA Selected to make over Sherman Oaks Public Library


LOS ANGELES, CA -- Artist Community for Change L.A. C.E.O. Anacia Weiskittel announced today that ACFCLA has been selected to update the look of the Children’s section at the Sherman Oaks Public Library.  ACFCLA visual artists will transform the dull corner into a vibrant fun spot for children to experience the joy of reading.  The project is tentatively scheduled to be finished by February 2010 with a reception to follow.


All interested artists should contact ACFCLA about participating in this worthwhile community activity.

LA ECO Arts Tour-  SATURDAY APRIL 17, 2010


LOS ANGELES - Barnsdall Gallery Theatre – a facility of the City of Los

Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs & Artist Community for Change

L.A. (ACFCLA) in association with Arts Earth Partnership are hosting LA Eco Arts Tour Kickoff event.  A 10-stop high profile city-wide Eco-Arts Tour at Los Angeles-owned cultural facilities.   The LA Eco Arts Tour is to promote the cultural sectors ground breaking contribution to the Mayor’s Green LA initiative and to celebrate and recognize the Barnsdall and other cultural facilities are being certified as “green” by the Arts: Earth Partnership. This will be a fun and educational event that will inspire everyone in the community to work towards a “greener” future.


The entertainment portion will feature inspirational pieces by some of LA’s top Choreographers including Gina Starbuck, Danielle Towne, Joelle Martinec, Lamont “tales” Goode.  Dance companies ACFCLA Dance Co., Lumina belly dance co., Karmagraphy, Degas Dance Co., and Stilt World.  Musicians of all genres including Marisa Guterman, Erinn Williams, Eric Schackne, Jon O’Hara, Chris Laterzo Band, The Max Wrightson Quintet and spoken word performances by Azure Antoinette and The Get Lit Players.  Environmental short films from Playing for Change and Drastic Planet by comedian Randy Kagan.  Art walk with nationally recognized visual artists, green vendors, food and arts & crafts.   This event is  FREE for the community on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 12p.m.-6p.m.

“AWAKENING” - Sunday April 25, 2010


LOS ANGELES - Artist Community for Change L.A. (ACFCLA) Dance Co.

presents “Awakening” an original three Act Contemporary Ballet at 4p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre – a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.   “Awakening” is a story of LoVe, HoPe, PeAcE and the power of art to embrace diversity, inspire and empower each of us to make a difference in the world.   The event will feature the ACFCLA Dance Co., with original music composed by Akiko Joo, Lindsey Kate Cristofani, Marisa Guterman and Erinn Williams with live performance by both Marisa and Erinn.  “Awakening” will feature special appearances by guest artists Stilt World, contortionist Jacqui Kreisler and Degas Dance Studio jr. and sr. dance company members.


Artist Community For Change Los Angeles is a non-profit organization of artists dedicated to inspiring others in positive ways on global, environmental and humanitarian causes.

ACFCLA - Takes DOWNTOWN Art Walk Thursday, April 8th


LOS ANGELES - Artist Community for Change L.A. (ACFCLA) Visual Artists, Musicians and dancers perform on the grounds of the new Downtown Police Station for Artwalk.  Performances to include, Antonio Jackson, Max Wrightson Jazz Band, Botch Aztec Dance Group, Azure Antoinette, Erinn Williams, Acro Hip Hop artists Taylan Ozden and Dance Crew, Nick Josephs, Mike Eagle, Serengeti, Kaitlyn Rosati, Marisa Guterman, Alexx Calise and more.
